History of ECC

Escola Comunitária de Campinas (ECC) began in 1977 with a pioneering and challenging proposal for the time. Its primary objective was to maintain a solid and consistent pedagogical approach. To make this project a tangible reality, it was essential to establish a new educational institution in which parents, teachers and staff would play active roles as partners.

Through a collaborative effort, this vision took shape and the Escola Comunitária de Campinas was officially established on November 7, 1977, being run by the Community Society of Education and Culture. This environment stood out for welcoming and valuing people and their conceptions of education, based on participatory and democratic relationships.

The enthusiasm and serious commitment to building the school, led by Amélia Pires Palermo, our Professor Emeritus, were fundamental to realizing the educational dream shared by everyone involved.
