Escola Comunitária’s history of using digital technologies dates back to the 1990s, making it one of the pioneers in this field. In line with the general competences established by the National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC), the institution directs its approach towards digital culture, prioritizing the development of students’ reflective, ethical and critical skills in relation to the use of technologies. The aim is to provide training that enables them to use the internet responsibly, consciously and safely.

To make this possible, all the classrooms at the Community School are equipped with multimedia resources, including a Computer Lab, as well as mobile labs and Chromebooks. The school also makes use of various digital tools, most notably Google Workspace, and has professionals specialized in Information Technology (IT), Educational Technology (ET) and in compliance with data protection legislation.

In Early Childhood Education, the use of Classroom is significant for both teachers and families, facilitating communication and interaction. In Primary 1, students begin to familiarize themselves and become active users of the platform, getting involved in activities that include photos, images, texts, slides, 3D and guided research on the internet.

In Primary 2, digital practices are deepened with the use of Chromebooks and mobile devices, and the use of Google Workspace is expanded for various teaching activities. In secondary school, specifically, Evolucional is used as a tool for analyzing student performance in exams, complemented by the use of digital textbooks and the Letrus platform, especially for text production classes.
