In Primary 2, we prioritize a deeper curriculum in each subject to foster students’ critical capacity to construct knowledge and apply it to the real world. We adopt a diversified approach, which includes a variety of procedures, didactic sequences and disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects, aimed at developing essential skills, competences and values.

We value harmonious coexistence between students, which is cultivated during lessons and through the Help Teams, promoting a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. In addition, we offer various activities and projects in the after-school hours, such as scientific initiation, math circles and knowledge olympiads, providing students with enriching learning opportunities outside of regular school hours.

In Primary 2, the curriculum is made up of Portuguese, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Physical Education and Foreign Languages. In addition, we offer Educational Guidance classes to work on the student’s life, as well as educational content that contributes to the student’s education.

We also value the subjects of Visual Arts, Theater, Creative Production and Projects, which provide students with enriching experiences and stimulate creativity.

From 8th grade onwards, we introduce subjects such as Chemistry and Physics, and adapt English language teaching according to the students’ proficiency levels. Each subject follows a carefully planned didactic sequence, supported by resources such as textbooks and systematizations. However, what we really value is the path of knowledge that each student takes, encouraged and guided by the teachers through research methodologies, projects and collaborative work in the classroom.

In Primary 2 and Secondary School, we promote a participatory culture through the Council of Representatives, where students meet monthly to discuss issues related to the school and the courses they are involved in. These representatives, selected from their classrooms to make up the council, have the responsibility of sharing the information discussed during the meetings with their classmates during Educational Guidance classes.

In addition, we encourage the organization of the Student Guild, which involves students from the 6th grade to the 3rd grade of high school, providing a structure for students to express their opinions and ideas, as well as taking an active part in school life.

In terms of promoting healthy coexistence at school, we have a Help Team, made up of students from grades 6 to 9, accompanied by a tutor. This team meets regularly to discuss important issues and conduct peer research, with the aim of promoting a safe school environment and combating bullying and cyberbullying.

At the Escola Comunitária, the course structure is carefully planned to support classroom projects and work. In addition to conventional classrooms, students have access to science labs, maker spaces and other school environments. Environmental studies and field studies are also incorporated into the curriculum, providing enriching experiences.

In Primary 2, the curriculum includes Visual Arts and Drama in the 6th and 7th grades, and Visual Arts and Music in the 8th and 9th grades. These subjects provide students with opportunities for creative expression and artistic development.

As a space for socializing, Primary 2 has the Peace Square, equipped with games tables and toys, where students can interact and enjoy moments of leisure and socialization.
