Extracurricular
Extracurricular activities complement students’ education, contributing to the development of different skills and competencies in specific areas. They cover the areas of culture, sports and languages.
In the Extracurricular Comunitária, we work with the values and principles that are inherent in our political-pedagogical project and that we want to put into practice in our educational practices.
For families, the extracurricular activities offered at the school provide safety, convenience and time optimization, avoiding trips across town.
For the students, in addition to practicing activities that complement their learning, they are encouraged to interact and socialize more with classmates from other classes and even from other years.
How to choose an activity? What is the most appropriate modality?
It is important to respect the choice and pace of the students and to establish a dialog to facilitate and clarify the choices between the different options. Some questions can guide reflection:
– Which skills will the extracurricular activity develop?
– Why would you like to complement the development of these skills?
– Do you enjoy doing this extracurricular activity? Why?
By making a conscious choice and maintaining responsibility, everyone will have a lot to learn and share!

👣 Capoeira
Capoeira is an African culture developed on Brazilian soil as a reaction to the dehumanizing social values and practices relegated to the black population in Brazil. In its development, Capoeira has become an effective instrument in the fight against racism and the affirmation of Afro-Brazilian civilizational values, with a focus on strengthening the affective and solidarity bonds of community life, respect and connection with nature and the appreciation of the community’s ancestors and elders.
Objectives:
- – Introduce students, in a playful way, to ancestral social values and practices of respect and communion with the ethnic and cultural diversity present in society.
- – Contribute to the critical and reflective cultural formation of the participating students.
- – Encourage the development of physical health.
- – To promote knowledge and reflection on the aphorisms and other forms of expression of Capoeira’s philosophy, left by the old Mestres present in musicality and other forms of historical record.
- – Strengthen the sense of community and social integration.
🎶 Faces and Corners
The Caras e Cantos (Faces and Corners) Project aims to bring students not only the skill of singing through the voice, but also the use of the body as a tool for expressing emotions in song.
The idea is that during the classes the students will develop their knowledge of the meaning of the lyrics and songs and create and awaken emotions, which will have repercussions not only in the emotion of singing, but also in a reverberation in the body, through movement and expressiveness.
During the lessons, techniques will be presented that enable the collective and individual development of the student.
